HOW COOL is this 360 camera from Timestoppers Hawaii?! We had so much fun getting creative with their props! Watch these clips from our staff:
Hawaiian Tel FCU’s biggest event of the year — the 76th Annual Meeting and Dinner — was held on Saturday, April 6 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
At the meeting, which was held in the newly renovated Coral Ballroom, the financial condition of the Credit Union was discussed. It was also announced that Calvin Choy, Ken Miyasato and Glen Moribe had been selected to fill the vacancies on the Board of Directors.
Then it was time for the ever-popular door prizes! As in previous years, thousands of dollars in door prizes were given out to enthusiastic attendees. Lucky members won gift cards to great restaurants, BluRay players, a Kindle Fire, a $200 gift card to the Apple Store, and so much more!
With the meeting concluded, everyone adjourned to the dining room to enjoy a sumptuous seven-course Chinese dinner while being entranced by the exotic ukulele stylings of Taimane Gardner. Augie Tulba, our emcee, kept everyone entertained in his usual frenetic style.
Next up was Dita Holifield, who brought an energetic country/western flair to the proceedings. She invited Board Members Primo Pimental and Scotty Bowman to the stage to show off their golden singing voices, and concluded her set with a rousing line dance that got everyone up and moving.
Mystical Sounds’ mobile disco and light show was the perfect way to cap off a celebratory evening of fun and fellowship.
A big MAHALO to all who attended! Hope to see you all next year!
People all around the island spend February and March adopting duckies for the Great Hawaiian Rubber Ducky Race to benefit the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii. We try our hardest to support this great cause by holding ducky adoptions at all of our branches. This year, our members raised over $3,000!
On Saturday, March 30, 2013, our team set up camp at the McCully Shopping Center for pre-race activities. We had our famous spin-the-wheel game and fun temporary tattoos! Our team, armed with fishing nets and tons of cheer, braved the morning sun and joined the street collection team. The pre-race activities were so much fun!
1:16 pm rolled around and it was time for the race! The sight of thousands of rubber duckies in the Ala Wai is not something you’d want to miss! Winners of the race were rewarded with some amazing prizes! This year, the first place duck took home a trip for two to Las Vegas! Second place won a two-night stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott, and third place received a two-night stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village!
